1. Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir break a world record in short-dance

It’s been quite the Olympics so far for Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. The Canadian flag bearers already have gold in the figure skating team event, but are now competing in the free dance event on their own. On Monday, the pair scored 83.67 in the short-dance portion of the free dance, which is a world record. They’ll skate for gold on Tuesday morning in PyeongChang, which is Monday night in B.C.


2. Team LeBron wins the NBA all-star game, but Fergie stole the show

Team LeBron took down Team Steph 148-145 to win the NBA all-star game on Sunday, but it was Fergie who stole the show before the game even started. The former Black Eyed Peas singer gave an interesting rendition of the anthem, which certainly had the internet talking.


3. As many as 65 feared dead after Iran plane crash

A commercial plane went down in Iran over the weekend and as many as 65 people are feared dead. According to local media reports, 60 passengers and five crew members were on board the Aseman Airlines flight when it crashed. The flight went down near its destination of Yasuj.


4. Emma Watson donates £1M to a women’s justice fund

Emma Watson has definitely put her money where her mouth is. Watson has teamed up with 190 stars of film, T.V. and stage, as well as 160 activists, academics and service providers, to start a new anti-harassment campaign called The Justice and Equality Fund. The Harry Potter star has donated £1M to the fund as well.


5. French figure skater experiences wardrobe malfunction

An Olympic nightmare has come true for French skater Gabriella Papadakis. While performing a short dance routine with partner Guillaume Cizeron, her dress clasp came undone and exposed part of her breast. Despite the unfortunate incident, Papadakis and Cizeron powered through to continue their routine and remain in contention going into the final skate of the event on Tuesday.
