1. Yogurt is causing a real mess on a Toronto highway

Toronto commuters were delayed today, but not by your typical accident. A transport truck carrying a full load of yogurt crashed on Hwy 401 and when it did, out came the yogurt. The busy highway was littered with yogurt. Unsurprisingly, there were huge delays for hours as crews scrambled to clean up the mess.


2. The NHL draft starts tonight

A new wave of future superstars will be drafted into the NHL tonight at the league’s annual entry draft. Only the first round will take place tonight before rounds two through seven go on Saturday. Swedish defenseman Rasmus Dahlin is expected to be the first overall pick, which belongs to the Buffalo Sabres.


3. Kate Spade’s dad has now died as well

It’s been a difficult month for the family of Kate Spade. The 55-year-old took her own life earlier in June and, on Thursday, the family announced that her father, Earl F. Brosnahan, had died as well at the age of 89. Brosnahan “had been in failing health of late and was heartbroken over the recent death of his beloved daughter.”


4. Police arrest suspected killer of XXXTentacion

Police in Florida have made an arrest in relation to the death of Jahseh Onfroy, or XXXTentacion, who was shot dead earlier this week. Dedrick Devonshay Williams was arrested for murder shortly before 7 p.m. on Thursday. It was also revealed by Onfroy’s mom that the popular rapper had a child on the way.


5. The NBA draft happened on Thursday

The NBA draft happened on Thursday night, one day before the NHL draft is set to start. As expected, Deandre Ayton went first overall to the Phoenix Suns with Marvin Bagley III being selected second by the Sacramento Kings. Luka Doncic went third overall to the Dallas Mavericks, who traded up with the Atlanta Hawks to get that pick.
