An Alberta judge ruled on Monday that an eight-year war crimes sentence for former Guantanamo Bay prisoner Omar Khadr has expired. Khadr was asking to have the three and a half years remaining on his 2010 youth sentence to be reduced to one day as he awaits a decision in his U.S. appeal. Khadr was sentenced after killing an American soldier during a firefight in Afghanistan when he was 15.

Launching this fall, Apple TV+ looks to compete directly with video streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
