Brand new BC cabins come with hot pools in the forest

Located between Sicamous and Revelstoke, Crazy Creek Resort is a year-round mountain resort offering cabins, RV sites, tent camping, hot pools, and family-friendly outdoor amenities in British Columbia’s Monashee Mountains.

The resort recently opened a collection of new modern cabins designed for larger groups and families and some studio cabins for couples or solo travelers. Our family of 5 spent May long weekend testing out The Selkirk. This brand new addition features two queen beds, a separate bunk room, a full kitchen, indoor dining space, flat-screen TV, fireplace, and a covered outdoor deck with a propane fire feature. Each cabin also includes a private outdoor fire pit and picnic area. Large picture windows throughout the cabin overlooked the surrounding forest and allowed us views of the surrounding cedars and hard working squirrels.

In addition to the new cabins, Crazy Creek offers a range of accommodation types, which is why this is perfect for groups, including studio cabins, traditional cabins, powered RV sites, and forested tent camping sites. The variety of accommodations makes the resort suitable for different travel styles and budgets.

One of the resort’s main attractions is its hot pools facility, which includes multiple pools with varying temperatures, as well as an 8°C cold plunge pool. The pools are surrounded by forest and are open year-round. The resort also offers an adults-only soaking hour from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The property includes several family-oriented amenities, including playgrounds, a children’s bike pump track, walking paths, creek access points, and a fenced dog park. The layout of the resort allows children to move easily between amenities by bike or on foot. There is also an on-site convenience store selling snacks and candy, camping essentials, and basic supplies.

During the summer season, Crazy Creek Resort hosts an outdoor concert series featuring Canadian musicians. The concerts are held on-site and are open to resort guests and ticket holders. Past and upcoming performers include Andrew Allen, Kailee Duggan, and Shalisa. The current concert lineup and schedule can be found on the resort’s Instagram.

The surrounding area offers additional outdoor activities and historical points of interest. Near the resort are the remains of Taft, a former industrial settlement dating back to the late 1800s. Visitors can explore trails leading to old foundations and remnants connected to the area’s railway and milling history. We felt like we fell into the set of a post-apocalyptic video game!

Approximately 30 minutes east of the resort, Revelstoke provides additional dining, shopping, and sightseeing opportunities. Nearby attractions include Moses Falls, a short walking trail leading to a waterfall and river viewpoint along the Trans-Canada Highway corridor. And of course, we popped into town for a little Mexican cuisine at our favorite Revy restaurant, Taco Club.

I’ve never stayed anywhere in BC that provided so many different types of ways to enjoy ‘camping’ from forested sites to luxury cabins, you choose your own experience here. We spent our last day planning all the weekends we plan to return this year. For more BC gems and itineraries, follow @thiswildpassport on Instagram. I’d love to hear about some of your favorite places!

May 31st is the last call to join my women’s trip to Portugal this July 2-11th. I have a few spots remaining on this incredible experience that I’ll be hosting through Lisbon, Sintra, the Algarve, and Porto!
