BC motorcycle driver fined after being caught hitting 221 km/h on Hwy 1

A BC motorcycle driver was handed a steep fine for not only excessive speeding but also driving with an expired licence.

The BC Highway Patrol stopped the motorcycle after it was reportedly caught hitting an astounding 221 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.

The motorcycle was stopped on Highway 1 near Boston Bar.

The driver was handed a $759 fine and had to pay to have his bike towed.

In BC, driving without a licence can land you a fine of about $276.

Fines for excessive speeding range from ​$368-$483.

According to the BCHP, the bike was also impounded for seven days.

“His Harley friends couldn’t keep up, but they got to keep their bikes,” the BCHP said in a social media post.

“His girlfriend picked him up from North Van. Bet she was happy.”
