Those injuries have now been deemed “suspicious.”

The Southeast District Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and is asking the public for information about Beauchemin’s death.

“Investigators are diligently tracing Beauchemin’s final movements, and interactions, leading up to the time of his death,” said Staff Sergeant Jason Smart, NCO i/c of the Southeast District MCU.

“At this time, there is believed to be no cause for public concern as investigators continue to gather and assess the facts surrounding Beauchemin’s death.”

Anyone who might have information is asked to contact the Major Crime Unit’s tip line at 1‐877‐987‐8477 and refer to file 2025-4154.
