Major Crime Unit investigating 'suspicious' death in Princeton

The Southeast District RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is investigating a “suspicious” death in the small town of Princeton.

On the afternoon on June 15, the Princeton RCMP responded to a property just outside the community where a dead person had been found, a news release says.

Investigators believe it to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public.

“As it’s believed the man’s death is the result of foul play, the Southeast District Major Crime Unit has assumed conduct of the investigation,” said Staff Sergeant Jason Smart, NCO i/c of the Southeast District MCU.

No further details are being provided at the time because the investigation is in the early stages, police say in the release.

However, anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Southeast District MCU’s tip line at 1-877-987-8477 and refer to file 2024E-12292.
