Emergency crews were called to a drowning incident at Christina Lake to begin the weekend.
Around 6:30 pm on Friday, Emergency Health Services requested RCMP assistance for the reported drowning.
It happened on a public beach access at the south end of Ritchie Road, police explained.
Bystanders and first responders provided CPR on the man at the scene before he was rushed to hospital. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead.
“The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is conducting a concurrent investigation,” the RCMP noted in a media release.
Grand Forks RCMP is requesting any witnesses who have yet to speak with police to contact the detachment at 250-442-8288 and reference file 2025-2538.
