According to police, the incident occurred just before 6 pm at the Dollar Tree store located at 2102 Quilchena Ave.

“The suspect was described as a slender male, wearing a camouflage baseball hat with a skull wearing a soldier's helmet, dark navy hoodie, green gloves, blue jeans and carrying a black backpack on his back and a blue bag in his hands,” wrote the RCMP.

After robbing the store cashier at knife-point, police believe the man fled from the store in an easterly direction down Quilchena Avenue.

Police surrounded the area in an attempt to locate the suspect or any of his belongings, but were unsuccessful.

"The public are the eyes and ears of our community. If you were in the area of the Dollar Tree on Saturday evening around 6 pm and happen to have dashcam or structure CCTV footage, we would really like to get that information from you," said Cst. Blake Chursinoff.

"Additionally, if anyone happened to see this suspect or recognizes anything about this suspect, to give us a phone call."
