A single-vehicle crash on a remote forest service road (FSR) near Chase left a man trapped inside his vehicle for multiple days.
Police say he was last seen on Sunday, May 17, and reported missing by his family two days later on Tuesday, May 19.
A short time after he was reported missing, the RCMP was advised about the vehicle incident on the FSR.
Emergency crews attended the scene and found the man’s vehicle, which had left the road and “rolled several times down a steep embankment.”
The vehicle’s lone occupant, confirmed to be the man reported missing earlier that day, had been trapped inside since the crash two days earlier.
The RCMP says the man was extricated from the vehicle by first responders and transported to hospital in serious condition.
“This was a challenging situation in a remote area, and we are relieved the individual was located alive,” explained Cpl. Brett Urano.
“We thank all those who assisted, including members of the public who came forward with information that helped direct our response.”
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and will be releasing no further details at this time.
