The ER closure in 100 Mile House began at 9:30 pm on Friday and lasted until 7 am Saturday.

During the closure, patients needing emergency care were directed to Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake or Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

The ER closure in Lillooet began its temporary closure at 7 am today and is expected to last until 8 am on Sunday.

Residents in the area needing emergency care during the closure are asked to go to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

Friday saw another Interior Health emergency department close its doors as the ER at Oliver’s South Okanagan General Hospital temporarily closed at 5 pm.

The closure in Oliver is expected to last until noon today.

“People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility,” states Interior Health.

“Anyone unsure whether an emergency room visit is warranted can call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1, or visit www.HealthLinkBC.ca for non-emergency health information from nurses, dietitians and pharmacists 24 hours a day, seven days per week.”
