A pair of missing skiers on Silver Star Mountain have been reunited with their family after being found by Vernon Search and Rescue (VSAR) volunteers.
VSAR was called out Friday evening to look for the two young men and teams on snowmobiles located them at the Vernon Snowmobile Association's chalet.
“They were found to be safe, dry, uninjured and were reunited with their thankful family,” wrote VSAR in a social media post.
VSAR added that the subjects, who are not from Canada, activated SOS alarms on their phones and stayed put while they waited to be rescued.
“Outdoor enthusiasts are reminded to always be prepared to stay overnight when problems arise and to carry emergency equipment including GPS communication devices and backup power sources.
VSAR then thanked a trail groomer operator who helped with the rescue.
