Police looking for man who ‘violently’ accosted workers at BC Interior drive-thru

Mounties in Trail are investigating reports of a man causing a disturbance and “acting violently” towards workers in the drive-thru of a fast food restaurant.

Police say it happened shortly before 11 pm on Saturday, July 12, in the 700 block of Victoria Street.

The only fast food location with a drive-thru in that block is McDonald’s.

According to an RCMP release, the man allegedly screamed into the drive-thru’s intercom after getting upset with the quality of his food.

He then allegedly approached the window and banged it with his fist, spat on the glass and “yelled racist slurs” at the employees before driving away from the property.

“This kind of abusive behaviour toward people in the service industry is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” said Sgt. Mike Wicentowish.

“There are many ways to communicate and resolve a dispute without resorting to intimidation and violence.”

The man is described as Caucasian and between 30-40 years old, with the only clothing description available being that he was wearing a hat.

He was driving a yellow 2003 Chevrolet S10 truck with BC plates XD5227, the police statement notes.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and the RCMP is asking anyone who knows the identity of the driver, or whereabouts of the truck, to contact the Trail detachment at 250-364-2566.
