Lottery players throughout the Thompson-Okanagan had plenty of success in 2022.
According to the BCLC, people across the region claimed a total of $226.2 million in prizes through 24.5-million winning tickets last year.
That includes 18 tickets that were worth $500,000 or more.
The most notable win was West Kelowna’s Jennifer Cole, who scored a $31-million jackpot from the Lotto Max draw on July 8.
“BCLC is proud to generate revenue for the Province of BC, which supports things we all rely on, like healthcare, education and community programs,” said Pat Davis, BCLC president and CEO.
“We’re generating win-wins for the greater good, and today we’re celebrating the 24.5-million winning tickets sold in the Thompson-Okanagan region in 2022.”
Provincewide, lottery players in BC won more than $800 million in total prizes paid out last year.
