Blazers 2021-22 home opener set for early October against Prince George

It’s been a difficult couple of seasons for Kamloops Blazers fans.

Kamloops has had one of the best CHL teams in the country over the past two seasons, both of which have been cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.

While it pales in comparison to what the world has dealt with since March 2020, it’s still been difficult to watch two championship-level rosters not be able to compete in the playoffs.

However, that shouldn’t be the case next season, as things are starting to return to normal and the WHL has started to tease the 2021-22 schedule with home openers.

The Blazers will start the season on the road in early October before returning home to host the Prince George Cougars in the first game of the season at Sandman Centre on Saturday, Oct. 9.

It’s expected to happen in front of a full house of fans as well, as there aren’t expected to be any limitations on capacity by the time October rolls around.

The full 2021-22 WHL regular season schedule will be released on Wednesday, June 23.

Current season ticket holders will be receiving information on renewals in the coming weeks, while information for potential new season ticket holders will be released later in the summer.
