It was a night to remember for Connor Ingram.
The former stalwart in between the pipes for the Kamloops Blazers had one of the best nights of his professional career, which resulted in his first career shutout.

He made 47 saves in regulation and added two more on Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov in the shootout to lead his Arizona Coyotes to a 1-0 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
It’s a new NHL record for the most saves made in a goaltender’s first career regular-season shutout.

When asked after the game if the thought of his first career shutout crossed his mind at any point during the game, he did not try to hide the truth.
“Yea, there’s no doubt about it. I’m not going to lie to you,” Ingram said with a smile. “Especially near the end of the game, you start thinking about it. How many kids can say they had a shutout in the NHL? It’s a lifelong dream.”

It likely felt extra special as it came against the team that drafted him in the third round of the 2016 NHL entry draft.
Tampa Bay ended up trading Ingram to Nashville for a seventh-round pick in 2019 and he played parts of three seasons in the Predators organization before making the move to the Coyotes last summer.
