Pair of Blazers on NHL clubs’ radar ahead of 2025 draft

NHL Central Scouting released its midterm rankings for the 2025 entry draft today and it features a pair of Kamloops Blazers.

Nathan Behm is ranked 31st and Tommy Lafreniere is ranked 86th among North American skaters.

A native of Calgary, Behm is setting career highs in his second year with Kamloops thanks to 23 goals and 47 points in just 38 games so far this season.

He’s fourth in scoring among first-year draft-eligible WHL players.

Lafreniere is in his first full season with the Blazers after skating in nine games to end the 2023-24 season.

In 39 games, the Quebec native has posted an impressive stat line of 15 goals and 36 points.

It’s not just current Blazers who are catching the eye of NHL scouts, as the Blazers have a pair of listed USHL players included in the midterm rankings.

Ashton Schultz of the Chicago Steel is ranked 59th among North American skaters, while Sean Barnhill of the Dubuque Fighting Saints is ranked 76th.
