This Kelowna organization delivers a merry Christmas to families in need

In this episode of Business Matters, presented by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, host Rob Cupello is joined by Indy Brar from Kelowna Toyota and Sydney Baerg from Kelowna Santas.

Kelowna Santas is back for its 10th year along with its presenting sponsor for the third year, Kelowna Toyota!

With the help of local businesses volunteering as drop locations, this community-driven initiative collects donations to help provide Christmas gifts for children and teens from families in need.

“We've found that a lot of times during Christmas there’s a lot of families that have a hard time getting gifts for their children,” explains Baerg.

“We really just wanted to start this organization to really spread forth the cheer, help support those families and give them really amazing Christmas gifts.”

While there has already been an overwhelming amount of support for this year’s fundraiser, there is one group that often gets overlooked in these kinds of Christmas drives.

“The age group that really needs the help is the teenagers. That 12 to 17-year-old demographic,” explains Brar.

The gift can be something simple like a gift card to a local store or coffee shop, barbershop or salon or an experience like an escape room.

If you would like to make a donation, volunteer to help wrap and deliver presents or register as a family in need, all of the information you need is on the Kelowna Santas website.
