Another 401 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the BC Interior since the health authority last provided an update on Thursday, April 1.
That’s an average of 80 new cases per day, with the following breakdown:
Today’s total of 106 new cases is the sixth highest single-day total for Interior Health, the highest since there were 110 new cases on Jan. 22.
Currently, there are 678 active cases in the BC Interior, which is an increase of 200 since last Tuesday and twice as many active cases as there were two weeks ago.
Twenty-one people are currently in IH hospitals with COVID-19 and eight of them are in critical care.
There has been one additional death over the past five days, bringing the region’s death toll to 116.
