Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 53 new COVID-19 cases in BC on Friday, bringing the provincial total to 1,174.
A total of 35 people have died of the disease in the province, with four new deaths reported on Friday.
There are now 146 patients in hospital, three fewer than Thursday, with 64 in intensive care.
A total of 673 people have fully recovered from the virus.

Henry once again called on returning travellers to self-isolate for 14 days, as required by law, and advocated for friends, families and neighbours to do their part to make sure those in quarantine have everything they need.
Health Minister Adrian Dix reported BC now has 4,399 acute care beds available for COVID-19 patients in hospitals, following the cancellation of 11,276 non-urgent elective surgeries between March 17 and April 2.
Dix also said he was "disappointed" by news out of the U.S., that President Donald Trump has ordered American company 3M to stop exporting N95 masks to Canada.
On Friday, BC Ferries announced it has suspended its Horseshoe Bay – Nanaimo service until further notice, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also announced the federal government will donate $100 million to food banks and other non-profits helping feed people across the country.
The number of COVID-19 cases across Canada has now crossed 12,300 and is over one million worldwide.
