COVID-19 outbreak at Merritt care home declared over

It’s been a positive week at the Florentine care home in Merritt.

Interior Health has declared the COVID-19 outbreak over at the privately operated long-term and assisted-living residence.

An outbreak is declared over when two incubation periods, or 28 days, have passed from the last onset of symptoms in a resident.

There were two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents at the care home.

Earlier on Friday, health officials reported 33 new cases of the virus in the BC Interior.
