BC producer behind Rust Valley Restorers issues call for new pitches

Think you have the right setting for a reality tv show?

After turning rust into reality television gold, a Vancouver based producer is searching for his next big find.

Tyson Hepburn recently scored a hit series chronicling the trials of tribulations of three Shuswap men in Rust Valley Restorers.



The reality tv series has since made its way onto the History Channel and a little streaming site called Netflix.

Focusing on documentary series and reality TV shows, Tyson Media has now announced a competition to find another hit product.

Closing on Jan. 15, 2021, the winning pitch will receive $10,000 in funding and a longer-term development option deal with Tyson Media.

A successful pitch starts with a demo video featuring five minutes that "the unique premise, characters or format" of the idea.
