One of British Columbia’s most notable radio personalities made a big announcement this morning.
Jake Edwards, known better as Bro Jake, told listeners that he would be “throwing away his alarm clock.”
His final day on the morning show, which he co-hosts with Dave Pratt, will be Friday.
After 40 years of morning radio, Bro Jake is throwing away his alarm clock!
As just announced on #TSN1040, this is the final week of The Bro Jake Show! We'll have special guests all week leading up to the final show this Friday at @CoastbyGlowbal!https://t.co/3FaMtWohvp pic.twitter.com/GQ61zx7QZ8— TSN Radio Vancouver (@TSN1040) June 25, 2018
At that point, it’s believed a variety of people will guest host with Pratt for the remainder of the summer before a permanent co-host joins the show in the fall.
It was long rumoured that Bro Jake would step away from the show once his contract expired at the end of June and that’s exactly what has happened.
He can still be heard on the sports station, however, as he’ll continue to host a four hour show on TSN 1040 on Saturday.
Before joining TSN 1040 in September 2013, Bro Jake was at Rock 101 for more than 17 years before Corus Entertainment didn’t renew his contract.
