Life in general has become more expensive lately, which means some people or families need to cut out activities like going to the movies.
For those people, and anyone else who just enjoys watching a film on the big screen, circle Saturday, Nov. 4, on your calendar.
That day will mark the 11th annual Cineplex Community Day, which will be held at theatres across Canada.
It will be a morning of free movies and discounted snacks, with popcorn, soft drinks and select candy priced at just $2.50. To make it even better, $1 from each snack is going to BGC Canada.
"Cineplex Community Day has become a cherished and memorable tradition that unites people from coast to coast in the shared joy of entertainment and social experiences,” said Ellis Jacob, president and CEO of Cineplex.
“We are proud to...(bring) together communities across the country for a day of fun, in support of BGC Canada, a cause that empowers the next generation.”
The festivities begin at 9 am local time at theatres all across Canada, which will return to regular paid programming in the afternoon.
Cineplex Cinemas Orchard Plaza in Kelowna, Galaxy Cinemas Vernon and Cineplex Cinemas Aberdeen Mall in Kamloops are the only BC Interior theatres participating.
This year’s lineup of family-friendly films includes:
