Netflix’s latest original film “Bird Box” has been parodied by internet memes all week, which if nothing else means the movie is popular.
According to the streaming giant, the film has already been viewed by more than 45-million accounts, setting a new mark for strongest opening week by a Netflix original.

The sci-fi thriller stars Sandra Bullock, whose character has survived a mysterious apocalypse with her two children.
They journey to seek a new beginning, blindfolded, to avoid the same fate as most of the population.
The number of individual viewers who've watched "Bird Box" could easily be higher than 45 million, with multiple profiles per account and the high prevalence of account sharing.
For comparison, Netflix’s “Stranger Things” tallied 15.8 million viewers in its for three days, however, the streaming service is rather tight lipped on viewership numbers.
Currently, the film has an audience score of 79% and a critic rating of 66% on Rotten Tomatoes.
