Sam Smith announces 2023 tour with a stop in BC

If you want to see Sam Smith this summer, you’re living in the right province.

The popstar revealed dates for their 2023 tour today and it only has three stops in Canada, one of which will be right here in British Columbia.

Smith will play Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 13, and start at $49.50 before fees.

The tour will have the same name as their upcoming album Gloria, which is due to come out later this month.

It will feature the smash hit “Unholy,” which has been hailed as one of the best songs of 2022 by Rolling Stone.

The publication noted that Smith “stepped away from their signature ballad sound to create a catchy, dirty song about a ‘daddy getting hot at the body shop’ behind mummy’s back.”

Along with that tune and others from their new album, you’ll almost certainly hear hits like “Stay With Me,” “I’m Not the Only One,” “How Do You Sleep?” and “Dancing With a Stranger” from the 30 year old.

Jessie Reyez, who appears on Smith’s upcoming album, will be the opening act for the tour.
