A staple of the summer season in the BC Interior is ready to welcome the public back for another year.
The always-popular Starlight Drive-In Theatre, just south of Enderby, will open for 2022 this weekend and owners are hoping for the first restriction-free summer in three years.
It opened in a socially distant manner once the initial wave of restrictions were lifted in 2020 and in 2021 it was a rollercoaster ride, as COVID-19’s return hampered any plans of a regular season.
This year, the drive-in will open on time and with a regular full capacity, but owners will be keeping one feature from these last two challenging summers.
Tickets will continue to be sold online in advance as opposed to first-come-first serve at the gate, which was the case before the pandemic.
For opening weekend on April 1 and April 2, Starlight will be showing Spiderman: No Way Home on both nights.
It will only be a single feature due to a lengthy running time of two hours and 28 minutes.
However, for most of the summer, patrons can expect two movies per night, which usually includes a more family friendly early showing for the kids.
