ZZ Top announces 2025 Canadian tour with a stop in Kelowna

The legendary rock group known as ZZ Top will be coming to our neck of the woods next summer.

Technically, their freshly-announced Canadian tour begins days before the official start of summer, on June 1 in Victoria, and the Okanagan is stop number two a couple days later.

ZZ Top will be taking over Prospera Place in Kelowna on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

They’ll be bringing along The Wallflowers, Bob Dylan’s son Jakob’s band, as an opening act.

ZZ Top is the product of two rival Houston bands, as Billy Gibbons’ Moving Sidewalks merged with Frank Beard and Dusty Hill’s American Blues in 1969.

It was their third album, 1973’s Tres Hombres, that catapulted them into the national spotlight thanks to the hit song “La Grange,” which remains one of the band’s signature tunes to this day.

Following Hill’s death in 2021, the band’s guitar tech Elwood Francis took over the bass role at the request of Hill.

While ZZ Top has only released one album in the past two decades, 2012’s La Futura, the band has continued to tour around the world into their senior years.

Tickets to see ZZ Top and The Wallflowers live in Kelowna next June go on sale through Live Nation at 10 am on Friday, Dec. 13.
