A new escape room is opening up in Padova

If you’re into escape rooms and learning about the history of Kamloops, than this new attraction is for you!

Tranquille Tunnel Theatre and Chimera Theatre are bringing a brand new escape room experience to the abandoned tunnels of Tranquille.

As we all know, Padova is the old sanitarium that has since been abandoned. So why not get locked in the basement of it for 60 minutes while you and your friends anxiously solve clues to escape?

This new attraction, Escape From Padova, is not only a cool concept, it is also Canada’s only tunnel escape room with actors!

Every year, this historic property looks for ways to be creative in telling the story of Tranquille.

Annette Mcleod, owner of Tranquille Fresh Farms, has created an escape room experience that is being integrated with this year’s tunnel theatre production, Padova: The Untold Story.

“We tell true events that have happened through interactive tunnel theatre. You interact and move through the tunnels with the actors into different rooms,” said Mcleod.

While you do not have to attend the theatre to get a full understanding of the plot, Mcleod claims it is a fun addition.

This escape room is also different than any of the interactive activities they have done as is revolves around the tunnels.

Although Mcleod was hesitant to give too many details, she did disclose that participants would move from room to room while they solved the Da Vinci Code inspired escape.

“You’ve snuck into Padova, now you have to find a way to get out. Can you make it out alive,” says Tranquille Farm Fresh website.

The escape tunnel experience will be running three times a night starting Aug. 31.
