"We have forestry experts who will be discussing ideas and opportunities to suppress the devastation we've seen recently," Madison added.
The documentary, tentatively titled "BC is Burning," is inspired by a letter to the editor written by retired forester Murray Wilson, which highlighted critical issues in current forest fire management strategies. "Murray Wilson's letter really struck me. He introduced me to other foresters, and their unfiltered insights are invaluable," said Madison.
Madison emphasizes the urgency of the issue, noting the severe impact of forest fires on the environment and the economy. "Last year, Canada emitted 21% of the world's carbon emissions during the fire season. Forest fires affect everyone, from the economy to asthmatics and the tourism industry," he said.
