Transition Kamloops is hosting a repair cafe for International Repair Day later this month.
Volunteers will be set up at the Hal Rogers Center in Alberta McGowan Park on Oct. 19 to help restore everything from bikes to blenders and wooden to wool items.
The goal of these events is to help keep household items in service longer and out of landfills.
“We believe in acting locally while thinking globally,” says Carl Gagnier, one of the Repair Cafe Kamloops organizers.
This month’s event will be happening from 10 am to 3 pm.
Not only will you get your item repaired, the volunteers will do their best to show you how to tackle the repair and show you how it's done if the item breaks or tears again.
Transition Kamloops, a local not-for-profit organization, has been hosting these events since 2018.
