(UPDATE: April 29 @ 12:39 pm) – Ballot counting is now done in the Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola riding.
As of 12:30 pm, all 272 polls had been counted.
Incumbent MP, Frank Caputo with the Conservatives secured his spot with a 7,051 vote lead.
Elections Canada says he received 32,007 votes, accounting for 51.5% of the vote.
According to EC, 62,096 of the 89,245 registered electors turned out to submit a ballot.
That does not include electors who registered on election day, however.
Iain Currie for the Liberals received 24,956 votes, or 40.2% of the vote.
In third place was Migeul Godau with the NDP. He secured 3,684 votes, or 5.9% of the vote.
Jenna Lindley for the Green Party got 933 votes, or 1.5% of the vote.
Chriss Enns for the People's Party received 516 votes, accounting for 0.8% of the total vote.
(UPDATE: April 28 @ 9:13 pm) – Conservative candidate Frank Caputo is heading back to Ottawa.
As of 9:13 pm, 164 of 272 polls report Caputo in the lead.
Caputo has received 12,898 votes, which accounts for 53.4 % of the vote.
He has been in a strong lead all night and KamloopsNow is declaring his win.
Caputo was first elected in the 2021 federal election for the former Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo riding.
This will be the eight Conservative win in the area.
After Caputo, Liberal candidate Iain Currie received 8,935 votes, accounting for 37% of the vote.
Miguel Godau with the NDP received 1,670 votes, followed by Jenna Lindley with 433 and Chris Enns with 220.
(UPDATE: April 28 @ 8:48 pm) – Conservative candidate Frank Caputo is leading with 8,685 votes, or 54.2% of the vote so far.
As of 8:48 pm, 110 of 272 polls are reporting in the Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola riding.
Iain Currie for the Liberals has 5,808 votes.
Godau for the NDP has 1,090, Lindley for the Green Party is at 282 and Enns for the PPC has 155 votes.
(UPDATE: April 28 @ 8:28 pm) – Conservative candidate Frank Caputo is leading with 4,978 votes, or 55.1% of the vote so far.
As of 8:28 pm, 60 of 272 polls are reporting in the Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola riding.
Iain Currie for the Liberals has 3,162 votes.
Godau for the NDP has 637, Lindley for the Green Party is at 170 and Enns for the PPC has 94 votes.
(UPDATE: April 28 @ 8:08 pm) – Conservative candidate Frank Caputo is leading with 3,231 votes, or 53.7% of the vote so far.
As of 8:08 pm, 36 of 272 polls are reporting in the Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola riding.
Iain Currie for the Liberals has 2,154 votes.
Godau for the NDP has 454, Lindley for the Green Party is at 109 and Enns for the PPC has 70 votes.
(UPDATE: April 28 @ 7:49 pm) – Frank Caputo is showing a strong lead with 52.6% of the vote so far (1,448 votes).
As of 7:49 pm, 10 of 272 polls are reporting.
Iain Currie for the Liberals has 1,066 votes.
Godau for the NDP has 176, Lindley for the Green Party at 38 and Enns for the PPC has 24.
(UPDATE: April 28 @ 7:41 pm) – As the votes start coming in, Conservative candidate Frank Caputo is leading with 170 votes or 53.3% of the vote.
He is followed by Liberal candidate Iain Currie with 83 votes.
NDP candidate has 49 votes followed by Green Party candidate Jenna Lindley with 13 votes and PPC candidate Chriss Enns with four votes.
As of 7:41 pm, five of 272 polls are reporting.

(Original story: April 28 @ 6:30 pm) – In a little over 30 minutes, polls will close in British Columbia.
Candidates in the Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola riding will soon be awaiting the results.
According to 338Canada, the Conservatives are projected to earn 49% of the vote and the Liberals are projected to earn 40%, plus or minus 8%.
Conservative candidate Frank Caputo has a 91% chance of winning the riding compared to Liberal candidate Iain Currie's chance of 9%.
The Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola riding has a population of 111,707 and there are 89,245 registered voters, not including those who registered today, Elections Canada says.
