You’ll be a popular person if you show up to a summer barbecue or beach hang with this new mixed pack from Twin Sails Brewing.
The Port Moody brewery dropped its Signature Series Mixed Pack in June and it contains a perfect combination of beers.
It has a couple of classic summer beers in a sour and a wheat ale, the latter being an iconic BC craft beer that I’ve covered in this column before.
The mixed pack also has a pair of pale ales to switch things up a little bit, both east-drinking and fruit-forward, and once again one of them is a very popular BC craft beer that I’ve touched on before.
All four beers are between 4.8% and 5.2% ABV (alcohol by volume), meaning they’re in that perfect window to give you a nice buzz without forcing you to stumble home.
Here’s a look at what you’ll get in the Signature Series Mixed Pack from Twin Sails, with descriptions from the experts at the brewery themselves:
"This beer started as a traditional American style wheat ale, packed with flaked and malted wheat. We selected a yeast strain with a lower ester profile than its traditional European cousins. This beer is teeming with raspberries and blueberries, backed up by a creamy mouthfeel and light crisp malt profile."
"Our Daymaker guava sour certainly lives up to its name. A fruit-forward Sour with a hazy pink hue, a bright aroma and the flavour of ripe guava in every sip, Daymaker delivers a perfect balance of tart, sweet, and sour – leaving you refreshed and wanting more."
"Dat Juice is an unfiltered pale ale brewed with large amounts of flaked and malted wheat then heavily hopped with 100% Citra hops. It pours a cloudy pale straw colour with bright aromatics of grapefruit, pineapple and mango."
"Columbus hops added in the whirlpool then tossed Talus, Eclipse and Chinook hops in the dry hop. Citrus and pine on the palate with a subtle hint of tropical fruits and floral notes. Strong bitterness and a dry finish."
