'Dine Around' to get delicious deals at 11 restaurants in Kamloops

Twenty-six glorious days of burgers, tacos, steaks, pizza, seafood, short ribs, blackened chicken, rack of lamb, curry bowls, mac 'n' cheese, cheese-stuffed pretzels, Cesar salads, cheesecake, brownies and deep-fried ice cream.

It's Dine Around Central Kamloops, which runs Jan. 17 through Feb. 11 at 11 restaurants.

The drab stretch between New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day is traditionally the slowest time of year for eateries.

That's why the BC Restaurant & Foodservices Association came up with Dine Around to entice people to come out this time of year to eat in their favourite restaurant or try a new one.

The restaurants offer special, three-course, price-fixed menus for either $25, $35, $45, $55 or $65 per person with suggested wine, beer, cider or spirits pairings priced separately.

"This unique pricing structure allows food enthusiasts to explore a myriad of culinary delights without breaking the bank, while offering menus catering to every palate," reads the news release announcing Dine Around.

"Prepare your taste buds for a delectable adventure."

For instance, Bright Eye Brewing has a three-course, $35 menu of goat cheese crostini, beer-brined chicken and ginger beer apple fritters.

The separately priced suggested beer pairings are, respectively, I'll Be Bock, Cherry Maguire and Dubbel Dragon.

Go Mexican at Casa Azul with the $45 menu of tortilla soup or Mayan goddess salad, enchiladas or fish tacos and banana empanada for dessert.

At Isagani F2T Cafe Lounge, the $45 offering is French onion soup, beef pot roast or chicken cannelloni and broken chocolate cake for dessert.

Meantime, Romeo's Kitchen+Spirits at the Coast Hotel Kamloops has a three-course, $45 menu of lobster chowder, black cod and pina colada tart .

The Coast is also the hotel in Kamloops participating in the 'Stay' promotion Dine Around has.

The hotel is offering special overnight rates combined with dinner in the hotel's resto.

The combo deal is billed as perfect for locals who want to make a staycation of Dine Around or out-of-towners looking for a culinary-inspired getaway.
