Get creative with the return of 7-Eleven’s Bring Your Own Cup event this weekend

It’s become a beloved tradition at 7-Eleven convenience stores across Canada.

The chain’s annual Bring Your Own Cup event is just around the corner and it offers Slurpee fans a chance to combine their creativity with an all-time sugar high.

On Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12, people can bring their own innovative “cup” to any 7-Eleven to fill with their favourite Slurpee flavours.

“Maybe it’s the nostalgia for spirited and playful imagination, but there’s something about Bring Your Own Cup Day that always gets me excited,” says Marc Goodman, vice president and general manager of 7-Eleven Canada.

“It is amazing to see the high level of creativity that is produced year after year, from Canadians of all ages.”

Goodman says some of the highlights of last year’s event included flower vases, cooking pots, trophies, blenders and kettles.

“If you can dream it up, you can fill it up,” he notes. “But I always remind people not to get too outlandish—you still have to meet the three simple guidelines.”

Those guidelines are:

  1. Fit within a 26 centimetre diameter when full
  2. Be food-safe and clean
  3. Be watertight and leak proof

As long as your makeshift Slurpee cup fits within those guidelines, you can fill it to the brim for a flat price of $2.49 plus tax.
