These are Tim Hortons top coffee and donut orders of 2020

It’s been a long year, one that needed plenty of coffee to get through.

For many Canadians, Tim Hortons remains the go-to choice for a morning cup of Joe, and today the chain released its top coffee and donut orders of 2020.

When it comes to coffee, Canada’s from coast to coast showed once again this year that the double-double is still this country’s favourite.

It was followed by the “regular” one dairy, one sugar, while a simple black coffee was the third most popular order.

Donut wise, it varied by region, but Boston Cream took top spot on the list looking at the nation as a whole, as well as top spot for Atlantic Canada.

Apple Fritters were number two on the nationwide list and the top pick for Western Canada and Ontario.

Quebec’s top selection, Honey Crullers came fourth when looking at Canada as a whole.

Tallis Voakes, Tim Hortons new culinary lead, said he wasn’t surprised to see the classic Boston Cream donut as the most popular donut in Canada.

"It's a filled, soft, yeast donut and has delicious chocolate and creamy vanilla flavours,” said Voakes, who said his top choice was the same as Quebec’s in the Honey Cruller.

“The concept for the donut comes from a Boston Cream Pie recipe that's over 100 years old — it's so cool to me to see how dishes evolve over time."

Old Fashioned Plain, Chocolate Dip, Vanilla Dip, Sour Cream Glazed, Chocolate Glazed, Double Chocolate and Honey Dip were the country’s other top 10 donuts.
