Grow with Ilona: Progress check after 1 week of growing

One week after planting various microgreens and vegetables in an aeroponic tower, Nikki Csek of NowMedia and Ilona Morrison reunited to see how much the seedlings had grown.

At a glance, several sprouts could be seen, including some arugula and one of the two cucumber seeds that were planted.

The duo will wait another week to see if the other cucumber seed will sprout, and if not, they will swap it out and plant something else.

Ilona explained that she was “really happy” and "impressed" with the growth of the seeds planted in the tower.

The duo then dived into a handful of questions viewers have had about the aeroponic tower.

Ilona explained that the version used by the duo is the Tower Garden Home and that it has 32 spots to plant seeds, 16 of which are smaller places at the top of the tower for microgreens.

When all is said and done, this version of the tower costs around $1600 with the inclusion of the lights and extra minerals.

The tower can be purchased on its own and includes everything needed to begin growing outside, but a set of growing lights is needed to grow indoors.

The duo then discussed the benefits of the tower, such as being in control of the growing process, less waste of produce and the potential savings.

“You just let it do its thing,” said Ilona as she explained the low maintenance of the tower.

Keep an eye out for the next installment of Grow With Ilona and future videos when the duo discusses how to harvest the greens.
