A Kamloops man, Edward Dostaler, will begin on March 1, 2015 a 21,585 km journey from Victoria, BC to St. John's, Newfoundland and back to raise awareness and money for Alzheimer's and Breast Cancer non-profits.
“There and Back” journey across Canada is centered around how with perseverance and determination the human body can withstand more than anyone could imagine. Dostaler's Grandma was diagnosed recently with Alzheimer's Disease and so that disease like breast cancer are close to his heart.
Dostaler, who goes by Fast Eddy, is also running alone and completely unsupported in order to show people how much the human body can withstand when one truly believes and is determined to achieve their goal.
Funds raised throughout the journey will go directly to local organizations to help create local connections to each community and the money goes to help those in each community the runner visits.

If a nationwide run wasn't enough, Dostaler has also decided to complete a 24 hour long endurance event in each province to further engage local residents with his journey.
You can see Fast Eddy running at the Kamloops Blazers game on Wednesday, January 21.
Dostaler said that this run is close to his heart and want everyone that one person can still make a difference.
"I believe this run has the capacity to inspire others to know you can accomplish anything. Believing is just the start, "concluded Dostaler.
