The new parking meters are up and running at the Tournament Capital Centre.
As of October 5th, the new Precise ParkLink parking system is in effect for TCC and Hillside Stadium visitors.
All visitors to the facilities have access to free two-hour parking, as long as they register their vehicle.
Visitors must register their license plate into the parking meters, which enhances the City’s ability to manage parking lot misuse and improve parking availability for clients and guests.
Five parking stations are located onsite, including on the interior lobby of the TCC. After the two hours expires, visitors are simply required to re-register their vehicle.
Parktoria Technologies, the former supplier of the parking kiosks and back-end management at the TCC, declared bankruptcy earlier this spring.
As a result, the City of Kamloops decided to make the switch to using Precise ParkLink, which operates the downtown parking system. It was the most cost-efficient and practical option, according to City staff.
The new TCC parking stations will work the same as the downtown system.
