An open casting call has been made for actors for a movie set to be filmed in Kamloops.
The feature film is based on the novel Indian Horse written by Kamloops author Richard Wagamese.
The novel follows top hockey prospect, Saul Indian Horse, who suffers from the trauma of being a victim of residential schools.
The film is looking for First Nations males anywhere from six to 25 years old. Roles include speaking roles, non-speaking roles and hockey players. No experience is required to apply for the roles.
Filming will begin in the fall of 2016 and will take place in Sudbury, Ont., Oka, Que., and Kamloops. Tutors will be on set for students involved in the film.
The casting search is being conducted via online audition submissions.
