Kamloops residents are reminded that they have just under a week to pay their property taxes to avoid a 10% penalty.
Property taxes are due on July 4 and the city is reminding residents to take into consideration that some financial institutions take up to three days to process payments and this Friday is a statutory holiday.
There are plenty of options to pay including:
Online with Visa or Mastercard, which are subject to a non-refundable 1.75% service fee
By phone or online banking
Paying my mail, drop box or in-person. A full list of payment locations and hours is available here.
Residents are also reminded that Home Owner Grants are also due by July 4 and must be applied for through the provincial government.
For those experiencing financial difficulties this year should note that HOGs can be applied for without making a tax payment, which will reduce the tax balance owing.
Partial payments before the due date will also reduce the penalty incurred.
To apply for a HOG, click here or call 1-888-355-2700.
