Two men have been charged with second-degree murder in connection to a 2021 homicide.
On Oct. 1, 2021, the Kamloops RCMP officers attended an area on Mission Flats Road, near the landfill, after firefighters found a body while responding to a suspicious fire.
The victim was later identified as 29-year-old Adam Hibbert.
Over the past four years, investigators have been digging into the case in the hopes of finding those responsible.
On Sept. 18, charges were laid against Tristan Bris Fernandez and Robert Lloyd Sedore.
A news release said Fernandez is in custody for an unrelated matter and Sedora has been arrested.
Supt. Pelley said investigators have been working tirelessly to get to this stage.
“This was an extensive and complex investigation that required a high level of commitment, collaboration, and determination,” said Pelley.
“While we cannot speak to the details as these matters are before the courts, I want to acknowledge the significant effort that has gone into bringing the investigation to this stage.”
The investigation will now begin progressing through the court system.
No other information will be released at this time.
