Two weather statements have been issued Tuesday for the Kamloops area.
A special air quality statement was issued for the Kamloops area due to nearby wildfires bringing in higher smoke levels.
Environment Canada says the fine particles in wildfire smoke may pose a health risk.
The weather statement advises people who are sensitive to smoke to take extra precautions by staying indoors as much as possible.
Additionally, there is a heat warning in place for the North Thompson region, which includes areas north of Heffley Creek all the way to the Blue River area.
“Temperatures are very high and there is a moderate risk to public health,” the weather statement says.
“Daytime highs are expected to be in the high 20's to low 30's with overnight lows in the mid teens.”
Those hot temperatures are expected to last throughout the week.
Similarly to the air quality advisory, people who are sensitive to the heat should seek cool places for relief and drink plenty of water.
