The annual seniors’ picnic is set to return to Riverside Park later this month.
The event, which is geared towards people 55 and over, provides free entertainment and an opportunity for older adults to get together and socialize.
This year’s event is happening on Friday, Aug. 29 from 10 am to 1 pm in the east end of Riverside Park.
A picnic-style hot dog lunch will be served up by the Kamloops Paddlewheelers Lions Club.
The Kamloops Rube Band and Gary Mockford will be providing musical entertainment.
In addition, there will be a variety of events including yoga, Zumba and lawn games.
Tables and chairs will be provided but attendees are encouraged to bring their own water bottles, hats and sunscreen.
The event is free but registration is required.
To register, call the city at (250) 8282-3500 or visit this link to confirm your attendance.
Free parking is available in the east parking lot by the Sandman Centre but folks are encouraged to carpool or use other transportation options due to limited parking space and downtown construction.
