Arrest made in residential break and enter in north Kamloops

An arrest has been made in a residential break and enter that happened early Monday morning.

The Kamloops RCMP said they responded to the 1200-block of Kimberly Crescent after receiving a 911 call that involved a mana and woman yelling for help.

When officers arrived at the house, they found a man inside a fenced yard and he appeared to be trying to get through a window of an entry door, the police said in a news release.

According to the RCMP, the responding officers saw a physical struggle between the homeowner and the man.

Fortunately, officers were able to pull the man away and arrested him.

Kevin Edward Young, 36, was held for a bail hearing on charges of break and enter into a dwelling, mischief and failure to comply with a court order, the RCMP said.

He was held in custody and is due back in court this week.

Anyone who witnesses the break and enter or captured anything on their home security system or dash cam is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file 2025-3143.
