BC Transit says bus fares will change in Kamloops in October

BC Transit has announced that some “legacy” bus fare products will be phased out this fall for the Kamloops Regional Transit System.

As of Oct. 1, “legacy” fare products like the 10 Ride Ticket, Adult Monthly pass, Student/Senior Monthly Pass and Student Semester Pass products will no longer be sold.

Instead, everything will be available through the new digital fare system Umo, which started launching in February.

  • Cash Balance fare payment of the day)

  • Onboard DayPASS

  • Adult 30 Day-Pass

  • Concession 30 Day-Pass

  • Student Semester Pass

Cash and the Province of BC’s BC Bus Pass will still be available, however.

A news release from BC Transit says ProPASS and U-PASS fare products will continue to be offered in collaboration with specialized fare program partners via Umo payment methods.

Until Oct. 1, the 120-pack of tickets and passes can still be purchased and used.
