(UPDATE: Jan. 8 @ 6:15 am) - The Kamloops Blazers announced another minor deal Tuesday evening.
Around two hours after acquiring Beau Courtney from the Everett Silvertips, the Blazers swung a deal with the Brandon Wheat Kings.

A fifth-round pick in the 2026 WHL draft is heading to Brandon, while 19-year-old right-shot defenceman Rhett Ravndahl is on his way to Kamloops.
In 29 games with the Wheat Kings so far this season, the blue liner from Birch Hills, Sask., has two goals and two assists.
Standing 6'3" and 185 lbs, Ravndahl is a veteran of 113 career WHL games split between Brandon and the Portland Winterhawks.
(Original story: Jan. 7 @ 4:15 pm) - There have been several major moves in the WHL over the past 24 hours as Thursday’s trade deadline gets closer.
The Kamloops Blazers swung a deal, but it certainly wasn’t major, as the club sent a seventh-round pick in the 2026 WHL draft to the Everett Silvertips in exchange for 20-year-old forward Beau Courtney.

Courtney, who is listed at 5’10” and 179 lbs, is a veteran of 198 career WHL games, all in Everett.
He’s accumulated 34 goals and 33 helpers for 67 points in that time, including nine points in 31 games this season.
The Colorado native has signed a letter of intent to play NCAA Division I hockey with the University of Alaska Fairbanks for the 2025-26 season.
In a subsequent move, the Blazers placed defenceman Layton Feist on WHL waivers.
