The agenda for the city’s annual Canada Day celebration has been revealed.
On July 1, the July 1 festivities will kick off with a pancake breakfast from 7-10:30 am, hosted by the Lions Club.
Attendees are then invited to the Rotary Bandshell for the multicultural flag parade, which starts at 10:45, Drum Canada at 11 am and the opening ceremony from 11:10 am to 12:30 pm.
After that Riverside Park will be home to day-long activities.
There will be local artisans on site, food trucks, community booths, a beer garden and a wide range of performances. There will also be a kid funzone set up near the Rotary Bandshell.
Art in the Park will be happening in the west end of the park near the Rose Garden.
The show will be capped off with the city’s first-ever drone show at dusk, which will feature 200 drones with a Canada Day theme instead of a fireworks show.
For the best view, people are asked to watch from Rivers Trail in Riverside Park.
People are reminded of the ongoing construction on Lansdowne and are encouraged to carpool or take a different form of transportation like the bus, which will be operating on Saturday service, or a bike.
