A brand new charcuterie, meat and sausage processing facility is coming to the city of Kamloops!
The "Chop N Block" announced the opening of their new facility this morning. It has been affectionately dubbed "The Charcuterie Kitchen."
This new kitchen is located within the Southgate Industrial Park. It is the first of its kind to open in the Kamloops area.
"Think of the Charcuterie Kitchen like an atelier or studio and the Chop N Block is our gallery,” said Brody White, Head Charcutier and Partner of Chop N Block. “We are excited to continue the expansion of our Kamloops-made business and to further support a more localized, hand-crafted, artisanal food system."
"Up until now we have been limited in our capacity and have kept our business directly to consumers, however, with the growth, we will be able to supply both the foodservice and food retail sectors much more confidently.”
For those who don't know, The Chop N Block has been supplying River City residents with meat since 1999. The new facility hopes to further support a more localized food system between ranchers, butchers, processors, and consumers.
