The City of Kamloops is hosting its annual auction next week to get rid of unclaimed items acquired by the City and the RCMP as well as old city-owned equipment.
This year’s auction has a variety of items, including a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 pick-up truck, a sander, two tractors, numerous bikes, various hand and power tools, office equipment, and more.
A news release from the city says the auction is a good way to help local residents get deals on yard equipment, tools or bikes but also serves as a means to reunite stolen or lost items with their owners.
“In recent years, our annual auction has proven to be a strategic tool for effective asset management,” said Ray Sison, the City’s Procurement and Inventory Manager.
This year, the auction will be taking place from Friday April 25 until Sunday, April 28.
Items can be viewed in person in advance of bidding at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre curling rink at 1665 Island Parkway noon until 7 pm on April 25-27.
Bidding will begin at 9 am on April 26 and will begin closing at 9 am on Sunday, April 28.
The city says all bidding will be done online and registration is required.
All items can be viewed at Kamloops.ca/Auction along with more information on bidding rules and procedures.
Anyone who identifies an item that was stolen or lost should contact the city’s Planning and Procurement Division at [email protected] and Team Auctions at [email protected].
If you identify an item that belongs to you, you will have to provide your full name, contact number, and a detailed description of the item along with its associated auction number will need to be provided.
Claimed items will immediately be withdrawn from the auction, the city says.
